Stainless Steel 201 Pipes consist of Chromium (16% to 18%), Nickel (3.5% to 5.5%), and Manganese (5.5% to 7.5%), with trace amounts of Nitrogen and Carbon. These pipes provide a tensile strength of about 520 MPa and yield strength near 275 MPa. The alloy offers moderate corrosion resistance and excellent ductility. Although they are not as corrosion-resistant as 304, SS 201 pipes show good toughness and workability. They are non-magnetic when annealed and may become magnetic after cold working. Their mechanical properties make them a popular, economical choice for general-purpose piping applications.
