ED Stainless offers AWS Class ER308/308H SAW wires and flux for welding stainless steels that operate at high temperatures. ER308H, due to its higher carbon content, provides better creep strength compared to standard 308 or 308L. Our flux is designed to work well with the higher alloy content, delivering smooth arc characteristics and minimal slag entrapment. ED Stainless’s welding solutions are made under strict quality standards, making them suitable for boiler, heat exchanger, and pressure vessel applications in the power generation and petrochemical industries where high temperature resistance and reliable performance are needed.
ER308/308H wire consists of 19–21% Chromium, 9–11% Nickel, and a higher carbon content (up to 0.08%) for added strength at elevated temperatures. It provides a tensile strength of about 550 MPa and good creep resistance. The increased carbon helps maintain grain structure and strength under high stress. When paired with compatible SAW flux, it achieves consistent welds with great mechanical integrity. It is suitable for applications where the welded component faces prolonged heating and thermal cycling.

ER308/308H SAW and flux are ideal for welding 304H and similar stainless steel grades in high-temperature situations. Common uses include steam piping, superheaters, furnace parts, and components in chemical plants. The higher carbon version of the 308 series improves long-term structural performance in systems facing thermal stress. Industries such as petrochemical refining, nuclear energy, and power plants rely on these materials for pressure-retaining components exposed to heat and corrosive gases. The combination of oxidation resistance, weld stability, and elevated-temperature mechanical performance makes this wire-flux pairing a reliable solution for demanding fabrication environments.
