ED Stainless is a leading supplier of AWS Class ER317L SAW wire and flux, catering to industries in Houston, USA, and beyond. This high-alloy stainless steel welding wire is meant for submerged arc welding in highly corrosive settings. With low carbon content and higher Molybdenum levels, ER317L offers great resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. When paired with our high-performance flux, this system provides smooth welds, easy slag removal, and high deposition rates. ED Stainless promises quality welding materials for critical operations in chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, and the marine sector, which demand strong corrosion protection.
ER317L consists of 18–20% Chromium, 13–15% Nickel, 3–4% Molybdenum, and ≤0.03% Carbon. This alloy provides better resistance in sulfuric and halide-rich environments. The typical tensile strength is around 550 MPa, with strong ductility and elongation over 35%. Due to its low carbon content, it avoids carbide precipitation, making it suitable for intergranular corrosion environments. When combined with optimized SAW flux, it yields high-quality welds with minimal spatter, stable arcs, and good fusion on 317/317L base metals or overlays needing high corrosion resistance.
