EP Tees are generally fabricated using Stainless Steel 316L, which has a very good resistance to corrosion, particularly in chloride and acidic conditions. The composition consists of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum with a maximum of 0.03% carbon. Tensile strength is approximately 485 MPa, yield strength approximately 170 MPa, and elongation is more than 40%. Electropolishing also improves surface finish (Ra ≤ 0.38 μm), corrosion resistance, and product adhesion, providing cleanability and sanitary standards needed in ultra-pure systems.
