SS 202 Flanges consist mainly of 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese, providing sufficient strength and moderate resistance to corrosion. These flanges have a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of 275 MPa with acceptable elongation and hardness. Though not permissible in marine or extremely corrosive applications, SS 202 flanges are perfect for systems at low to moderate pressures. They have good machinability and weldability and can be used for structural and plumbing fittings in economic applications.
