Ed Stainless 420 stud bolts have a martensitic stainless steel composition, the major composition being 12-14% chromium, and trace percentages of carbon, manganese, and silicon. This alloy gives good hardness and fair corrosion resistance. The mechanical properties are tensile strength around 750-850 MPa and the hardness rating which can be improved by heat treatment up to HRC 50-55.
