ER410 contains 11–13% chromium, less than 0.75% nickel, small amounts of manganese and silicon, and carbon between 0.08–0.15%, resulting in a martensitic microstructure after welding. Tensile strength ranges from 75–95 ksi (515–655 MPa), with yield strength around 55–65 ksi (380–450 MPa). Elongation is moderate (15–20%), and hardness can reach HRC 25–30 with proper heat treatment. It has good impact strength and fatigue resistance. While it lacks ductility compared to austenitic grades, it excels in strength and moderate corrosion resistance, making it suitable for structural stainless steel joints where magnetic properties are acceptable.
