Ed Stainless offers AWS Class ER316/316H MIG and TIG filler welding wire and rod made for high-temperature and corrosion-critical applications. Manufactured in Houston, USA, these products provide high resistance to thermal oxidation and carbide precipitation. The ER316H variant features better creep strength at high temperatures. Both filler types comply with AWS standards, ensuring reliable performance in MIG and TIG welding. Widely used in power generation, petrochemical, and high-temperature processing industries, Ed Stainless delivers consistent quality, fast delivery, and technical support to meet strict project requirements across the United States.
AWS ER316/316H filler metals contain 18–20% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum. The 316H variant has higher carbon (~0.04–0.10%) to improve creep resistance at high temperatures. Typical mechanical metrics include tensile strength ≥75 ksi, yield strength ≥57 ksi, and elongation ≥30%. The higher carbon in ER316H enhances strength retention after long exposure to 500–800 °C, while maintaining corrosion resistance. Both variants provide stable, ductile welds with excellent structural integrity in high-temperature applications, supporting both TIG and MIG processes with reliable performance.

ER316 and ER316H filler wires are essential in high-temperature, corrosive settings. They are used in welding heat exchanger tubes, boiler shells, superheater parts, petrochemical reactors, and refinery piping. ER316H is specifically chosen for components facing long-term exposure above 500 °C to prevent creep and maintain weld strength. These grades perform well in furnace parts, power plant components, and engine exhaust systems. Ed Stainless offers optimal product support and tailored filler solutions that meet thermal and fabrication needs for high-temperature infrastructures, enhancing service life and reliability under tough operating conditions.
