ER347 filler features 18–20% chromium, 11–14% nickel, with niobium stabilization and carbon less than 0.035%. Niobium binds carbon to create niobium carbide, stopping chromium carbide precipitation. Tensile strength is about 75–85 ksi (515–585 MPa), yield strength is 30–40 ksi (205–275 MPa), and elongation is 35–45%. Hardness remains moderate (Rockwell B80–90). This stabilization ensures thermal stability, resistance to intergranular corrosion, and maintained toughness after exposure to heat. Excellent weldability through MIG and TIG ensures consistent mechanical performance.
