Ed Stainless stainless steel mechanical tubing comes in a number of grades, such as 304, 316, and 409, all with superior corrosion resistance and strength. Standard composition contains chromium (18–20%), nickel (8–10.5%), and traces of carbon, manganese, and molybdenum based on grade. They have very good mechanical properties with tensile strength of 75,000–95,000 psi and good elongation and hardness. Their high fatigue strength and weldability provide them with excellent suitability for structural and mechanical applications, especially for severe environments where strength and reliability are paramount.
