Stainless Steel 201 Bars consist of 16–18% Chromium, 3.5–5.5% Nickel, and 5.5–7.5% Manganese. They have a tensile strength of about 520 MPa and a yield strength of around 275 MPa, with elongation up to 45%. These bars provide moderate corrosion resistance and excellent formability. While non-magnetic in the annealed condition, they become magnetic after cold working. SS 201 bars work well for machining and welding tasks. Although they cannot be heat treated, they can be strengthened through work hardening. Their balanced mechanical properties make them ideal for general-purpose industrial and structural work.
