Alloy 253MA Bars contain 21% chromium, 11% nickel, 1.7% silicon, nitrogen, and trace amounts of cerium and other elements to improve oxidation resistance and high-temperature stability. They provide tensile strength of about 600 MPa and yield strength of about 310 MPa. They have good mechanical properties up to a temperature of 1100°C, with high creep and scaling resistance. Their austenitic microstructure facilitates good weldability and fair formability. SS 253MA bars are manufactured for structural usage under extended thermal conditions, and hence, they are strong and long lasting in tough environments.
