Ed Stainless provides AWS Class E309LMo-16 Electrodes, which are intended for welding stainless steel to dissimilar metals, particularly in applications requiring high resistance to oxidation and corrosion. These electrodes contain low carbon content and added Molybdenum, whose contribution enhances their performance in hostile environments. Ideal for food processing, chemical processing, and marine industries, these electrodes provide smooth arcs, low spatter, and superior weld strength. AWS E309LMo-16 Electrodes are the perfect choice for producing reliable, durable welds in difficult, high-corrosion environments, maintaining the integrity of the welds where resistance to aggressive chemicals is critical.
AWS Class E309LMo-16 Electrodes contain 23-26% Chromium, 12-15% Nickel, and 2-3% Molybdenum, offering high resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and oxidation. The “L” grade’s low carbon content avoids carbide precipitation, creating a stable and strong weld. These electrodes provide tensile strength of 550 MPa to 700 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 220 MPa. The addition of Molybdenum improves resistance to corrosion, particularly in chloride-containing environments. These electrodes have superior arc stability and low spatter and are suitable for high-performance welding applications.

These electrodes are known for superior corrosion resistance and are suitable for more demanding conditions. Sizes include 3.2 mm, 4.0 mm, and 5.0 mm, with a thicker coating that enhances durability and performance under heavy-duty usage.
These electrodes provide high resistance to corrosion and oxidation, featuring shielding to protect the weld from atmospheric contamination. Available in 2.5 mm, 3.2 mm, and 4.0 mm diameters, they are ideal for stable arc welding and consistent weld quality.
Our AWS Class E309LMo-16 electrodes are carefully packed in wooden boxes with waterproof protection and lifting points for ease of transport. To ensure full client satisfaction, each order is accompanied by crucial documents such as a commercial invoice, packing list, heat treatment chart and Material Test Certificates, providing full transparency and assurance of product quality.
AWS Class E309LMo-16 Electrodes are typically employed to weld dissimilar metals, particularly stainless steel to mild steel or other stainless steel alloys. They are extensively employed in fields like food processing, chemical process, and marine applications where corrosion resistance is essential. These electrodes are well-suited for joining pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, and piping systems which are subjected to corrosive chemicals or seawater. Their pitting and oxidation resistance makes them suitable for joining equipment that is exposed to environments containing high chloride concentrations. These electrodes are utilized in welding equipment parts that work under high temperatures.
