AWS Class E317L-16 Electrodes have high Chromium content (19-22%) and Nickel content (11-14%), with Manganese and trace amounts of Silicon and Carbon. These electrodes are specially designed for welding corrosion-resistant stainless steels and provide optimal resistance to intergranular corrosion and oxidation. The welds have tensile strength between 600 to 700 MPa, with yield strength of approximately 250 MPa. Their ability to resist carbide precipitation due to low carbon content ensures that the integrity of the weld is maintained even at high temperatures. They also provide stable, smooth arc and low spatter, resulting in a high-quality finish.
