Ed Stainless offers AWS Class E312-16 Electrodes, which are specifically meant for welding dissimilar metals, specifically stainless steels to mild or low-carbon steels. They are very good at resistance to cracking and can be used in applications needing strong, durable welds in materials that have different mechanical properties. E312-16 electrodes are utilized in various industries like petrochemical, construction, and manufacturing, where welding different materials such as carbon steel and stainless steel is a common necessity. They provide high-quality, long-lasting welds that retain structural integrity at mechanical and thermal stresses.
AWS Class E312-16 Electrodes consist of a composition of 22-25% Chromium, 12-14% Nickel, and a trace quantity of Molybdenum. These electrodes have superior resistance to oxidation and cracking at elevated temperatures. Tensile properties of the welds are between 600 and 750 MPa, with yield strength of about 250 MPa. The electrodes’ high arc stability and strength properties make them suitable for welding between dissimilar metals, producing strong and durable joints that are resistant to stress and environmental conditions such as corrosion and thermal fatigue.
