Ed Stainless provides AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes made for welding stainless steel, especially 18-8 stainless steels like SS304 and SS304L. These electrodes show excellent resistance to cracking and corrosion, which ensures strong and durable welds. Whether you’re working with low-carbon steel or high-carbon stainless steel, these electrodes suit a variety of applications in food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Their top performance in high-temperature settings makes them ideal for projects requiring quality welds in stainless steel constructions.
AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes are produced with stainless steel, consisting of about 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel, which ensures great resistance to oxidation and corrosion. The electrodes also contain minor amounts of Manganese, Silicon, and Carbon. They possess a tensile strength of around 550-750 MPa and have excellent mechanical properties in elevated temperatures, with a yield strength of about 210 MPa. These electrodes provide smooth arc stability, low spatter, and easy slag removal, ensuring clean, strong welds in stainless steel structures.

Light-coated electrodes are ideal for welding 18-8 austenitic stainless steel, offering smooth weld beads with minimal slag formation. Available in sizes ranging from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter, they are suited for applications where easy slag removal is essential.
Heavy-coated electrodes provide enhanced slag control and stable arc characteristics, making them suitable for high-heat applications. These electrodes come in sizes from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter and are ideal for out-of-position welding due to their robust coating.
Shielded arc electrodes offer high weld quality with reduced spatter, making them excellent for shielded arc welding. Available in sizes ranging from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter, they provide superior arc stability and slag detachability, resulting in cleaner welds.
We guarantee quality products such as AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes that consistently pass all tests, such as hardness testing, spectro analysis, PMI, flaring tests, macro and micro tests, pitting resistance, and IGC tests. We ensure all documentation requirements such as commercial invoices, packaging lists, Certificate of Origin, and Third-Party Inspection Certificates to ensure the finest quality and satisfaction of our valued customers.
AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes are common for welding austenitic stainless steel grades, particularly 304 and 304L. They are often used in food processing, pharmaceuticals, petrochemical industries, and power plants, where high-temperature and corrosion resistance are critical. These electrodes are ideal for welding tanks, pipes, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels, as well as for repair and maintenance jobs. They are also perfect for projects where strength and high-temperature resistance are essential, such as in making boiler tubes, reactor parts, and other industrial applications.
