Ed Stainless offers AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes, which are designed to offer excellent weldability for duplex stainless steels and low-carbon stainless steels. These electrodes provide greater oxidation and corrosion resistance, qualifying them for use in industries such as food processing, pharmaceutical, and chemical manufacturing. Their low-carbon content prevents carbide precipitation upon welding, thus providing greater resistance to intergranular corrosion. AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes are also suited to high-stress, high-temperature service and provide strong, reliable, and durable welds for a wide range of industrial applications where greater corrosion resistance is needed.
AWS Class E320LR-16 Electrodes have a high chromium (19–22%) and Nickel (9-12%) content with trace amounts of Manganese and Silicon. The electrodes are formulated to provide resistance to intergranular corrosion and thermal fatigue due to their low carbon content. The strength of the electrodes in tension is around 600 MPa, while the yield strength is around 250 MPa. The chemistry provides good arc stability as well as simple slag removal. Their ability to resist carbide precipitation in high-temperature service makes them suitable for industries that demand consistent weld quality, especially where corrosion resistance is crucial.
